A getaway was something on my mind
for a long time. When my friend suggested
Bali, I was thrilled! I had just about 4 days to plan this whole thing (
Thank god for Visa on Arrival). We booked our flights with the shortest travel
time and off we went. So you could travel via 2 cities ( the fastest that is)
Singapore / Malaysia. We chose the later. 6 hours of flight time to Malaysia, a
3 hour halt and Indonesian immigration later we finally got out.
We love experimenting with local food so we
told our guide to take us to the most local Balinese food joint.
#peanutsauce mania! With Seasame chicken.
Stayed at Kuta for the first few nights.
This was the view from my hotel #KutaPlaya
Most of our trip we stuck to the local beer
there called #Bintang which was quite good and cheap. ( Eco trip!) Oh and the
currency there is mostly in lakhs, we took a few days to get used to it.
Imagine a meal worth 350000 rupaya!
Places to Visit: ( remember ours was a
short trip, tried to cover whatever we could without compromising on laze
time!)
a)
Kuta Beach.
Fun place it is with all the gimmicky beach entertainment.
Very similar to our very own juhu beach. Has this gorgeous mall with natural
water falls as its decor!

2) Bali Hi Cruise Ride
Second day was beautiful, we booked this
cruise trip – The Bali Hi II . They take you to the middle of the sea, to pontoon
( a platform in the sea) and let you do things like Snorkeling, Diving, take sea slides, underwater viewer tours. We started at 11am and came back only at
6.30. Its a ride 2 hrs almost into the sea and 2 hrs back. It was a gorgeous day to be at sea!
Sigh!
#Tip please chose this cruiseliner over the
yellow one! That one seemed way too overcrowded!
3) Bali Safari
Dont be confused, this is an animal reserve.
They have maintained animals in their natural habitat an the have a bus ride to
take you through the animal zones! Worth the visit tho!
DO NOT MISS the Bali Ayung Show – Its spectacular!
( no pix allowed in there)
4) Ulawatu temple
This happens to be on the ledge of the
Indian Ocean. It has breathtaking view points. The Bali people are very
religious. They are Hindus. They worship mostly lord Shiva. Every person has to
offer prayers and flowers everyday, else he isn't considered as a trustworthy
person!
5) Food to definitely try
#ChickenSkewerswithpeanutsauce
#NasiGoreng
#FriedSnapper
